We stick to our values amidst COVID-19, we will always be here for you.

Our sister company, Grovea sprouted into being after Typhoon Yolanda hit the southern Philippines. There is a saying that I truly believe in “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Grovea was created because I didn’t simply want to help people through charitable donations, I wanted to help them in the long-run. Charitable donations are very important, for sure, but providing someone with the skills and the environment to create a sustainable livelihood while being kind to all people and things will enlighten the person to grow in their journey. In times of distress, having something to focus on gives a person the passion to keep loving life. The accomplishment of achieving something gives that person a sense of purpose, and the community is less likely to falter and fall.

Silviyana sprung into existence as a call to action from our collaborations with bridal independent designers. We created a brand to house the many collections curated by the beautiful eco fabrics that come out of our social business (Grovea).

Amidst the COVID-19 scare, we still pay our weavers, embroiderers and employees. They work in the comfort and safety of their own home. We also provided them last month with early bonuses so that they may equip themselves and their families with the food and medicine needed to ride through the storm.

We have always believed that crisis will come, we have engrained our mentality and response to crisis in both our businesses. Grovea comes from the root word ‘Grove’, which is a group of trees. Silviyana comes from the root word, ‘Silviculture’, which comes from the latin word ‘Silvi’ which means forest and the latin word ‘cultura’, which means growing. Like in a forest, we help one another, we brace each other in the toughest winds, we shelter those in need, and we provide the much needed resources to those that need it the most. We continue to serve, and we believe that we will all continually grow together.

What is our COVID-19 policy?

Wedding dress shopping is an experience that is critical to planning a wedding. We understand how important this is for you, and we are here to serve you, while ensuring your safety and that of our Silviyana community.

We will continue to work tirelessly to achieve the wedding gown of your dreams, one that you would be proud to walk down the aisle.

A couple of precautions that we have taken to ensure your safety:

  1. All our wedding dresses will be professionally dry-cleaned after every Dress Box service. Gowns will be sprayed in at least 70% alcohol solution to disinfect. Before receiving new shipments, boxes will be sprayed in part bleach and part water solution to clean and disinfect the box.
  2. All new shipments will be sprayed in at least 70% alcohol solution to disinfect before shipping.
  3. We have also started using thieves oil and Frankincense oil blended with vodka to use as anti-bacterial agent on all of our rental and sample gowns. Please let us know if you have allergies or preferences on scent and we can make changes to this process.

Kind regards,

Owner, Grovea and Silviyana
