Captured in the garden of her childhood home – her grandmother’s tropical garden in Guam. This intimate setting paints a story of her love of Guam and her Philippine culture.
Significance and meaning is at the core of the design of this bespoke dress, the embroidery is inspired by beloved national flowers and sentimental items that remind her of what love truly means. Ginger flowers has significant meaning to Chloe, bougainvillea is a flower beloved by Guamanian locals and the sampaguita is the national flower of the Philippines. All these flowers are nestled over deadstock satin fabric and by-product pineapple leaf fibers and recycled mulberry silk.
Erlinda, the photographer of this shoot remarked that she was capturing these magical photos while “listening to nature sounds though the trees, smelling the fresh scent of alpine flowers, and then it rained…. so enchanting, just pure magic.” The rain adds an almost ethereal feel to these photos.
